Up to $5,000 reimbursement per home
Reimburses homeowners in participating Firewise Communities inside SCE territory in Santa Barbara County for qualifying retrofits — noncombustible fencing within 5 ft, 1/8-inch mesh vents, caulking and weather stripping, deck skirting, Zone 0 hardscaping, fire-resistant decking, noncombustible siding or roofing, and dual-pane windows. Important status as of the council's 6/24/2026 notice: new enrollments are temporarily paused and new applicants go on a waitlist, and all work plus reimbursement paperwork must be submitted by August 31, 2026. Work completed on or after January 1, 2025 may still qualify.
