🇪🇺 Every Wildfire in Europe — Satellite-Mapped

It shows the newest official mapping there is — re-pulled every few minutes from the EU's European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS, part of Copernicus), which re-maps fires from satellite passes several times a day. Each flame marks the centre of a satellite-mapped burn area, not a live fire edge — real fires spread between satellite passes. For emergencies, follow your national civil-protection authority and call 112.

EFFIS maps fires from satellite imagery rather than agency incident reports, so records carry the nearest place names (commune and province) instead of official fire names. Country pages with national-agency detail are rolling out, starting with Portugal, Spain, Greece, Italy and France.

The burnt area the satellites have mapped so far for that fire — updated as new passes come in. It is a mapped measurement, not an agency estimate, and fires smaller than a few hectares may not appear at all.

All EU countries plus the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey and the Western Balkans — about 40 countries. Not covered by the EFFIS programme: Russia, Belarus, the Caucasus, and the smallest microstates (Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein).

Not yet — today our alert engine runs on official U.S. and Canadian data. European address alerts and risk reports are in active development; when they launch, the signup card will say exactly what is and isn't covered.
