Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
FireRisk.ai (“FireRisk,” “we,” “us”) provides free, address-level wildfire risk information built from public government data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
Addresses you analyze. When you check a property, we send the address to mapping and federal/state data services to compute your score. We do not require an account, and we don’t ask you to confirm you own the property.
Information you give us. If you request quotes, download a report or document, sign up for alerts, or contact us, we collect what you submit — typically your email, and sometimes your name, phone, address, and message.
On-device data. Some tools (the Appeal Kit, Claim Toolkit, mitigation tools) save your inputs in your browser’s local storage on your own device — that data is not sent to our servers unless you submit a form.
Usage data. Like most sites, we and our hosting/analytics providers may log standard technical data (IP, device, pages viewed) to operate and improve the service.
How we use it
- To generate your wildfire risk report and run the tools you request.
- To email you a report, document, or alerts you asked for.
- To connect you with insurance carriers, agents, or contractors when you request quotes or a match.
- To operate, secure, analyze, and improve the site.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide what you asked for:
- Partners you request. If you ask to be matched or quoted, we share the details you provided with relevant licensed insurance or contractor partners so they can follow up. We may be compensated for these referrals.
- Service providers. Hosting, email delivery, mapping, and analytics vendors that process data on our behalf.
- Legal. If required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Third-party data sources
Risk information is derived from public sources including the USDA Forest Service, FEMA, USGS, NIFC, NWS, NASA, and (in California) CAL FIRE. Map and address services are provided by third parties such as Mapbox. Your use of linked third-party sites is governed by their own policies.
Your choices & rights
You can unsubscribe from emails anytime via the link in any message. You can clear on-device tool data by clearing your browser storage. Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CCPA, EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or opt out of certain sharing — email us to make a request.
Data retention & security
We keep lead and contact information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
FireRisk.ai is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “last updated” date above. Questions or requests: privacy@firerisk.ai.
