Free; two visits per calendar year, six hours of chipping per visit
Free chipping for homeowners at their primary residence on the West Slope of El Dorado County (the Tahoe Basin is excluded), to encourage defensible space work. Each address gets two free services per calendar year, renewing every January 1, with up to six hours of chipping per visit and no carry-over of unused hours. The chipper handles material up to 7 inches in diameter; pine needles, leaves, lumber and spiny plants are excluded. Apply through the council's online application portal.
