Is this active fire map live?

Yes — it pulls the latest data from the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) each time you load it. The records themselves are not real time: agencies update each incident irregularly (typically several times a day, sometimes about daily) and mapped perimeters about daily, so a fire's actual edge can be ahead of what the map shows. For official evacuation orders, follow your county emergency management office, Genasys Protect, and 911.

What's the difference between a fire map and a fire risk map?

A fire map shows what's burning right now. A fire risk map shows how prone a place is to wildfire over time, regardless of current fires. FireRisk.ai does both — see the live map here, or check any address for its 0–100 risk score.

Are these all the wildfires in the U.S.?

The map shows incidents reported to NIFC's interagency feed, which covers the large and significant fires fire agencies are tracking. Very small or brand-new local fires may not appear immediately — your local fire authority is the first source for those.
