IMPORTANT: Lane County states the program is NOT accepting new applications as of 2026, and grants already in process had to be completed by June 15, 2026 — check the page before telling anyone to apply. When open, it reimburses homeowners outside the Eugene-Springfield urban growth boundary (and outside any incorporated city in the county) for home-hardening and defensible-space work done by an Oregon-licensed contractor. Homeowner labor is not reimbursed. This is the largest county-run home-hardening incentive found in Oregon, so it is worth watching for a reopening.
