Josephine County pays a licensed contractor directly to clear vegetation and create defensible space within 100 feet of your home. You get written quotes from at least three qualified contractors, submit all three to the county Firewise Coordinator, and if approved the county pays the contractor after verifying before/after photos. Limited to property owners (or renters with owner approval) in the higher-risk communities of Merlin, Williams, Selma, Takilma-O'Brien, and the Redwood Avenue area of Grants Pass. First-come, first-served while funds last.
