The Weber Fire District Wildland Division sends a crew to your home for a free wildfire risk assessment and gives you written defensible-space recommendations. If you choose to do the work, you cut the vegetation and stack it near the road and the district's wildland crew comes and chips the pile at no charge. Important limits: you must be inside the Weber Fire District service area AND in the Weber County Wildland Urban Interface Zone or another designated high-risk area, and you are responsible for cleaning up and disposing of the chips afterward.
