Why don't the Canadian fires have names?
Canada's national feed identifies fires by their official agency ID (like 2026-N61613) rather than a name — so that's what we show. Province-level pages with named fires, starting with British Columbia, are in the works.
What do OC, BH, and UC mean?
They are the stage-of-control codes Canadian agencies report: OC = Out of control, BH = Being held, UC = Under control. Canada reports control stages, not U.S.-style containment percentages — we show the official code exactly as reported, with its plain-English meaning.
